About Dr. Jean-Leah
Frontier technology only matters if it works.
Engineer. Research Scientist. Systems Thinker. | Ph.D. Computational Materials Science | Top Women in AI, Texas
I write about the messy middle — where research meets reality and systems survive contact with the world.
My work spans three lenses: the translation problem of moving from controlled experiments to robust systems, the infrastructure and sovereignty questions of who builds and controls the substrate, and deep dives into frontier science — nanotech, advanced materials, physical AI.
I think in systems. The ones we build, the ones that govern us, and the ones that shape what's possible. My background in computational materials science taught me that the gap between theory and reality is where the real engineering happens.
Through Insights by Dr. Jean-Leah, I translate complex ideas into clear frameworks — for practitioners navigating the distance between what's possible and what's practical.
"The future needs more than speed — it needs clarity, care, and systems designed with integrity."
What Fills My Cup
Depth
Anchors My Mind
Through books that stretch the edges of my thinking. Through ideas that rearrange the room inside my mind. I am nourished by complexity, by philosophy, by systems that explain the world and questions that unsettle it.
Depth reminds me that growth is inward before it is outward.
Expansion
Stretches My Vision
Through movement across borders and perspectives. Through cities and soil and conversations that widen my frame. Travel loosens certainty. It teaches humility.
It reminds me that there is always another way to build, to live, to see.
Creation
Roots Me in the Body
Through hands in the earth. Through herbs steeping slowly. Through flavors layered with memory. Through spaces shaped with intention.
Creation grounds me in the present — in the tangible, the sensory, the alive.
Sharing Knowledge, Building Community
Knowledge grows when shared. I show up in rooms where ideas can spark action — not just to speak, but to listen, connect, and contribute to conversations that matter.
From global AI summits to intimate boardroom sessions, I share perspectives on AI governance, technology sovereignty, and the implementation gap. Every stage is an opportunity to shift how leaders think about responsible AI.
View speaking topicsI invest in the next generation of technologists — especially those who bring underrepresented perspectives to AI. Through mentorship, workshops, and community building, I help others find their voice in this space.
Connect with meIdeas deserve to be accessible. I write to demystify complex concepts, challenge conventional thinking, and provide frameworks that practitioners can actually use. My writing is my longest-lasting form of giving back.
Read insightsI partner with organizations navigating AI strategy, governance, and commercialization. Not as an outside consultant, but as a thought partner invested in getting it right — for the organization and for society.
